What Is Pipe Relining?
Trenchless pipe relining for damaged drain and sewer lines — less excavation, less disruption.
Pipe relining inserts a resin-impregnated liner into the damaged pipe and cures it in place, forming a new pipe inside the old one. Suitable for cracked, fractured or root-damaged drains. Faster, cheaper and far less invasive than excavating and replacing.
When To Call
- Cracked or fractured drain pipe
- Recurring root intrusion
- Old clay or fibre-cement pipes deteriorating
- Quote received to excavate but want a less-invasive option
- Pipe under driveway or paving
- Pipe under a structure that can't be lifted
How We Detect
- CCTV pre-survey
- Drain clean and prep
- Resin-impregnated liner install

What Is Pipe Relining?
Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) relining repairs a broken underground or in-wall pipe from the inside. A resin-saturated liner is installed through existing access points, pressed against the host pipe wall and cured into a hard, jointless structural pipe — without digging up driveways, breaking floors or demolishing walls. It is the standard trenchless repair for cracked sewers, root-damaged drains, corroded cast-iron stacks and degraded fibre-cement lines across South Africa.
When Relining Is The Right Call
- Cracked, fractured or collapse-prone clay sewer pipes
- Recurring root intrusion at pipe joints
- Corroded cast iron soil stacks inside buildings
- Degraded fibre-cement (asbestos) pipes — encapsulated safely in place
- Leaking pipes under driveways, paving, pools, floors or structures
- Any line where excavation costs more than the repair itself
When Relining Is Not Suitable
- Fully collapsed pipes with no open bore for the liner
- Severely deformed pipes beyond roughly 30% ovality
- Lines with multiple sharp misaligned joints that block inversion
- Pipes that are grossly undersized for the property's flow
- In these cases we recommend pipe bursting or sectional excavation — and tell you honestly before any work starts
Materials, Sizes & Design Life
Host Pipes We Reline
- Clay — the most common failed sewer material in older suburbs
- Fibre-cement / asbestos — relined and sealed without disturbance
- Cast iron — internal corrosion, pinholes and scaling
- uPVC / HDPE — fractures, deformation and joint failures
- Concrete and pitch-fibre — assessed case by case on CCTV
Specification
- Diameters: 40 mm – 600 mm
- Applications: sewer laterals and mains, stormwater lines, vertical stacks, downpipes, warehouse and factory drainage
- Cure systems: ambient, hot-water and UV cure depending on diameter and length
- Design life: up to 50 years as an independent structural pipe
- Verification: recorded pre- and post-CCTV footage on every job
Pricing is per metre and confirmed after the CCTV assessment — diameter, length, access and the number of branch connections to re-open determine the final quote. You receive the footage and a written scope before approving anything.
